# MathPapa vs Algebra 1

The clearest difference is ratings volume: MathPapa at 17K against Algebra 1's 4. MathPapa also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MathPapa sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Algebra 1 sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MathPapa holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MathPapa has 17K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.
