# Josh vs Messana

Josh and Messana both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 87% of Josh's written reviews are positive against 0% of Messana's. Josh also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and ratings volume (115 vs 3). Messana's advantage is iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Messana holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Josh has 115 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 87% of Josh's written reviews are positive against 0% of Messana's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Josh ships an update weekly, Messana monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
