# Josh vs ProperFix

The clearest difference is ads: Josh at none against ProperFix's shown. Josh also leads on ratings volume (114 vs 5) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). ProperFix's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 87%) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Josh against 5.0 for ProperFix. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Josh has 114 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 87% of Josh's written reviews are positive against 100% of ProperFix's.

Josh ships an update weekly, ProperFix every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
