# Hooked vs Encountrs

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Encountrs at 67% against Hooked's 24%. Encountrs also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 26.0). Hooked's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.7) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hooked sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Encountrs sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hooked holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hooked has 14K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Hooked's written reviews are positive against 67% of Encountrs's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hooked ships an update every 5 days, Encountrs every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and June 4, 2026 respectively.
