# Hooked vs Favoread

The clearest difference is rating: Hooked at 4.2 against Favoread's 3.0. Hooked also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 months). Favoread's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hooked sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Favoread sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hooked holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hooked has 14K ratings behind it against 278, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 24% of Hooked's written reviews are positive against 20% of Favoread's.

Hooked ships an update every 5 days, Favoread every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
