# Hooked vs InkTale

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hooked at every 5 days against InkTale's every 6 weeks. Hooked also leads on ratings volume (14K vs 623) and rating (4.2 vs 4.0). InkTale's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 24%) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Hooked sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and InkTale sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Hooked holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Hooked has 14K ratings behind it against 623, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 24% of Hooked's written reviews are positive against 50% of InkTale's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Hooked ships an update every 5 days, InkTale every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
