# Ghost Hunting Tools vs Ghost Detector

The clearest difference is update cadence: Ghost Detector at daily against Ghost Hunting Tools's every 4 weeks. Ghost Detector also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). Ghost Hunting Tools's advantage is ratings volume (11K vs 293) and review sentiment (68% vs 56%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ghost Hunting Tools sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Ghost Detector sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Ghost Detector holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ghost Hunting Tools has 11K ratings behind it against 293, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Ghost Hunting Tools's written reviews are positive against 56% of Ghost Detector's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ghost Hunting Tools ships an update every 4 weeks, Ghost Detector daily. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
