# Vimtag vs HonestView

The clearest difference is monetization model: HonestView at free with in-app purchases against Vimtag's subscription. Vimtag's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (20% vs 5%). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vimtag sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and HonestView sells 15 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 2.2 for Vimtag against 2.2 for HonestView. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vimtag has 382 ratings behind it against 74, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 20% of Vimtag's written reviews are positive against 5% of HonestView's.

Vimtag ships an update every 5 weeks, HonestView every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
