# Vimtag vs Casacop

The clearest difference is monetization model: Casacop at free with in-app purchases against Vimtag's subscription. Vimtag's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 6 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Vimtag sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Casacop sells 16 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Vimtag holds the better App Store score, 2.2 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Vimtag has 382 ratings behind it against 50, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 20% of Vimtag's written reviews are positive against 13% of Casacop's.

Vimtag ships an update every 5 weeks, Casacop every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
