# MindLine Mind Map vs Xmind

The clearest difference is ads: Xmind at none against MindLine Mind Map's shown. Xmind also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (7K vs 206). MindLine Mind Map's advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MindLine Mind Map sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Xmind sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $10.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Xmind holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Xmind has 7K ratings behind it against 206, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of MindLine Mind Map's written reviews are positive against 76% of Xmind's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MindLine Mind Map ships an update fortnightly, Xmind every 11 days. Both last shipped on October 19, 2026.
