# ApixPlay vs Kernel

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Kernel at 63% against ApixPlay's 10%. Kernel also leads on rating (4.0 vs 2.4) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 10 months). ApixPlay's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kernel sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. ApixPlay asks for nothing beyond the download.

Kernel holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kernel has 223 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.
