# HUD Widgets vs Speedometer ×

The clearest difference is rating: Speedometer × at 4.6 against HUD Widgets's 3.5. Speedometer × also leads on ratings volume (818 vs 109). HUD Widgets's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HUD Widgets sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Speedometer × sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Speedometer × holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedometer × has 818 ratings behind it against 109, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of HUD Widgets's written reviews are positive against 52% of Speedometer ×'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HUD Widgets ships an update every 2 months, Speedometer × every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 11, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
