# CleanPics vs Video Compressor

The clearest difference is review sentiment: CleanPics at 62% against Video Compressor's 15%. CleanPics also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.6). Video Compressor's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 3.8) and ratings volume (436 vs 72). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Video Compressor sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. CleanPics asks for nothing beyond the download.

Video Compressor holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Video Compressor has 436 ratings behind it against 72, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of CleanPics's written reviews are positive against 15% of Video Compressor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CleanPics ships an update every 3 weeks, Video Compressor monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
