# DronePan vs DroneVR

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: DronePan at none against DroneVR's 13. DronePan also leads on review sentiment (61% vs 40%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 14.1). DroneVR's advantage is ratings volume (230 vs 7). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DroneVR sells 13 one-off in-app purchases. DronePan asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.9 for DronePan against 3.8 for DroneVR. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DroneVR has 230 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 61% of DronePan's written reviews are positive against 40% of DroneVR's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
