# Roast Perfect vs CHEF iQ

The clearest difference is rating: CHEF iQ at 4.7 against Roast Perfect's 3.6. CHEF iQ also leads on ratings volume (35K vs 121) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). Roast Perfect's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and review sentiment (55% vs 43%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

CHEF iQ holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CHEF iQ has 35K ratings behind it against 121, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of Roast Perfect's written reviews are positive against 43% of CHEF iQ's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Roast Perfect ships an update every 2 months, CHEF iQ every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
