# Selvy PenScript vs Handwriting Keyboard ™

The clearest difference is rating: Handwriting Keyboard ™ at 4.5 against Selvy PenScript's 3.6. Handwriting Keyboard ™ also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly) and ratings volume (1K vs 120). Selvy PenScript's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Handwriting Keyboard ™ sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Selvy PenScript asks for nothing beyond the download.

Handwriting Keyboard ™ holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Handwriting Keyboard ™ has 1K ratings behind it against 120, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Selvy PenScript's written reviews are positive against 63% of Handwriting Keyboard ™'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
