# vNote vs Simple Notes.

The clearest difference is monetization model: Simple Notes. at free against vNote's free with in-app purchases. Simple Notes. also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (61 vs 14). vNote's advantage is review sentiment (95% vs 79%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 14.1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. vNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Simple Notes. sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simple Notes. holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 14 and 61 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 95% of vNote's written reviews are positive against 79% of Simple Notes.'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

vNote ships an update every 6 weeks, Simple Notes. every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
