# AFAS Pocket vs Shiftbase

The clearest difference is rating: Shiftbase at 4.7 against AFAS Pocket's 4.4. AFAS Pocket's advantage is review sentiment (63% vs 42%) and ratings volume (95 vs 13). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Shiftbase holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AFAS Pocket has 95 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 63% of AFAS Pocket's written reviews are positive against 42% of Shiftbase's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

AFAS Pocket ships an update every 3 weeks, Shiftbase fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 10, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
