# Sp33dy vs Speedmeter +

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Speedmeter + at none against Sp33dy's 1. Speedmeter + also leads on ratings volume (4.8K vs 68). Sp33dy's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (86% vs 55%). On price, rating, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sp33dy sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $0.49 per month. Speedmeter + asks for nothing beyond the download.

Speedmeter + holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Speedmeter + has 4.8K ratings behind it against 68, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Sp33dy's written reviews are positive against 55% of Speedmeter +'s, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sp33dy ships an update every 10 days, Speedmeter + every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
