# Total Interval Timer vs Interval Timer

The clearest difference is monetization model: Total Interval Timer at free with in-app purchases against Interval Timer's subscription. Total Interval Timer also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 67%) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Interval Timer's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 weeks vs every 37 months). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Total Interval Timer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Interval Timer sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Total Interval Timer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Interval Timer has 3.5K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of Total Interval Timer's written reviews are positive against 67% of Interval Timer's.

Total Interval Timer ships an update every 37 months, Interval Timer every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on June 11, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
