# Offline Map Navigation vs Karta

Offline Map Navigation and Karta both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 59% of Karta's written reviews are positive against 14% of Offline Map Navigation's. Karta also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 314). Offline Map Navigation's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Offline Map Navigation sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Karta sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.3 for Offline Map Navigation against 4.4 for Karta. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Karta has 1.8K ratings behind it against 314, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 14% of Offline Map Navigation's written reviews are positive against 59% of Karta's.

Offline Map Navigation ships an update fortnightly, Karta every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on November 6, 2026.
