# Case Opener vs Case Simulator 3

The clearest difference is rating: Case Simulator 3 at 4.4 against Case Opener's 3.4. Case Simulator 3 also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 4 months) and ratings volume (297 vs 20). Case Opener's advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Case Opener sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Case Simulator 3 sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Case Simulator 3 holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Case Simulator 3 has 297 ratings behind it against 20, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 60% of Case Opener's written reviews are positive against 56% of Case Simulator 3's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Case Opener ships an update every 4 months, Case Simulator 3 fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
