# BookBub vs Poetrify

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Poetrify at 100% against BookBub's 54%. Poetrify also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 26.0). BookBub's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (960 vs 4). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

BookBub holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BookBub has 960 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 54% of BookBub's written reviews are positive against 100% of Poetrify's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

BookBub ships an update every 3 weeks, Poetrify every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
