# Study Manager vs Subjects

The clearest difference is update cadence: Subjects at weekly against Study Manager's every 5 weeks. Study Manager's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Study Manager sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Subjects sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Study Manager ships an update every 5 weeks, Subjects weekly. The most recent releases landed on August 26, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
