# Alert Card vs SKRL

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Alert Card at none against SKRL's 1. Alert Card also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 17.0). SKRL's advantage is ratings volume (867 vs 1) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SKRL sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Alert Card asks for nothing beyond the download.

Alert Card holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SKRL has 867 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of Alert Card's written reviews are positive against 94% of SKRL's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Alert Card ships an update fortnightly, SKRL every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
