Owesum keeps track of who paid for what and works out who owes whom. Dinner, a weekend away, the shared house shopping, the weekly badminton court hire. Somebody pays, everybody owes a bit, and nobody wants to be the person doing sums at the end. TWO THINGS MOST OF THESE APPS CANNOT DO People who never install it still count. Add someone by name and split with them straight away. They do not need the app, an account, or an email address. When they hand you cash, mark it received. If they install it later, their whole history comes across. It handles clubs, not just trips. A regular session with the same people, per-person rates for members and visitors, money paid up front and drawn down over weeks, and more than one organiser who can record what people have paid. Built with a real badminton club, because none of this fitted an app designed around holidays. NO SIGN-UP Open it and start. The app makes an account for you, so there is no form, no password and no email to verify. Add an email later if you want to get back in on a new phone. SNAP A RECEIPT Point your camera at a receipt and the app reads the total and the shop name using your phone's own document scanner. Receipt photos are read on your phone and are never uploaded anywhere. SPLIT HOWEVER YOU ACTUALLY SPLIT Evenly, by exact amounts, by percentage, or by shares when one person had the steak. Anyone can record a repayment, including the person who is owed, so a debt settled in cash does not sit there for weeks. EVERYONE SEES THE SAME NUMBERS Balances update for the whole group at once, and the app works out the smallest set of payments that clears everybody, so four people owing each other in a circle becomes one transfer instead of six. WHAT IT DOES NOT DO It does not move money. There is no wallet, no card, no bank connection, and no fee. It is a record of money that changed hands somewhere else, which is also why there is nothing to lose if you stop using it. Made in Australia.
