# ORBCOMM vs Thermo King Connect

The clearest difference is rating: ORBCOMM at 3.0 against Thermo King Connect's 2.7. ORBCOMM also leads on iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.1). Thermo King Connect's advantage is ratings volume (17 vs 1) and update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 4 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ORBCOMM holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thermo King Connect has 17 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of ORBCOMM's written reviews are positive against 11% of Thermo King Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ORBCOMM ships an update every 4 months, Thermo King Connect every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and September 23, 2026 respectively.
