The clearest difference is update cadence: AxeModes at every 4 days against PlaySections's every 3 weeks. PlaySections's advantage is ratings volume (16 vs 2) and price ($3.99 vs $4.99). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

PlaySections costs $3.99 and AxeModes $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for PlaySections against 5.0 for AxeModes. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PlaySections has 16 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.
