# SmartTravelling vs Ferryhopper

The clearest difference is rating: Ferryhopper at 4.8 against SmartTravelling's 1.0. Ferryhopper also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 25) and ratings volume (4.9K vs 1). SmartTravelling's advantage is review sentiment (61% vs 39%). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SmartTravelling sells 24 one-off in-app purchases. Ferryhopper asks for nothing beyond the download.

Ferryhopper holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ferryhopper has 4.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of SmartTravelling's written reviews are positive against 39% of Ferryhopper's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
