# Lock Notes vs MemoP

The clearest difference is monetization model: MemoP at free with in-app purchases against Lock Notes's subscription. MemoP also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 73%). Lock Notes's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 28). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lock Notes sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per year and MemoP sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for Lock Notes against 4.5 for MemoP. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Lock Notes has 1.1K ratings behind it against 28, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 73% of Lock Notes's written reviews are positive against 100% of MemoP's.

Lock Notes ships an update every 10 days, MemoP every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
