# Discogs vs Schoolkids Records

Discogs and Schoolkids Records both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Schoolkids Records's written reviews are positive against 40% of Discogs's. Schoolkids Records also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.0). Discogs's advantage is ratings volume (67K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Schoolkids Records holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Discogs has 67K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 40% of Discogs's written reviews are positive against 100% of Schoolkids Records's.

Discogs ships an update every 3 weeks, Schoolkids Records every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
