# Discogs vs Subterranea

Discogs and Subterranea both sit at 4.8 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of Subterranea's written reviews are positive against 40% of Discogs's. Subterranea also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Discogs's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ratings volume (67K vs 3). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Subterranea sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Discogs asks for nothing beyond the download.

Subterranea holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Discogs has 67K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 40% of Discogs's written reviews are positive against 100% of Subterranea's.

Discogs ships an update every 3 weeks, Subterranea every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
