# KeepKontact vs Kontact

The clearest difference is rating: Kontact at 4.8 against KeepKontact's 4.5. Kontact also leads on ratings volume (17 vs 2). KeepKontact's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and iOS requirement (8.0 vs 16.0). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Kontact holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Kontact has 17 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of KeepKontact's written reviews are positive against 93% of Kontact's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KeepKontact ships an update every 3 weeks, Kontact every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
