# Typero vs Type

The clearest difference is rating: Typero at 3.6 against Type's 3.0. Type's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). On price, ratings volume, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Typero sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Type asks for nothing beyond the download.

Typero holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 5 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of Typero's written reviews are positive against 100% of Type's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Typero ships an update every 3 months, Type every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
