# Discovery GO vs Spectrum Access

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Spectrum Access at 76% against Discovery GO's 37%. Spectrum Access also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Discovery GO's advantage is ratings volume (35K vs 150) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Discovery GO holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Discovery GO has 35K ratings behind it against 150, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 37% of Discovery GO's written reviews are positive against 76% of Spectrum Access's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
