# MyScreen vs Shiny

The clearest difference is ratings volume: MyScreen at 313K against Shiny's 668. MyScreen also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and chart position (#70 vs unranked). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MyScreen sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Shiny sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MyScreen holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MyScreen has 313K ratings behind it against 668, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 57% of MyScreen's written reviews are positive against 47% of Shiny's.

MyScreen ships an update every 3 weeks, Shiny every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
