# SchoolRoom vs School Planner

The clearest difference is ads: SchoolRoom at none against School Planner's shown. SchoolRoom also leads on review sentiment (81% vs 50%). School Planner's advantage is update cadence (every 8 days vs every 2 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.4). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SchoolRoom sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and School Planner sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

School Planner holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 12 and 21 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of SchoolRoom's written reviews are positive against 50% of School Planner's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SchoolRoom ships an update every 2 months, School Planner every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
