# ScanGuru vs uScan

The clearest difference is update cadence: ScanGuru at every 2 weeks against uScan's every 3 weeks. ScanGuru also leads on ratings volume (93K vs 15K) and chart position (#27 vs #192). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ScanGuru sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and uScan sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for ScanGuru against 4.6 for uScan. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ScanGuru has 93K ratings behind it against 15K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 48% and 47% positive.

ScanGuru ships an update every 2 weeks, uScan every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 30, 2026.
