# Wee Trains vs Train Kit

The clearest difference is price: Wee Trains at Free against Train Kit's $6.99. Wee Trains also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 15.0). Train Kit's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.1) and ratings volume (816 vs 9). On review sentiment, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Wee Trains is free to download; Train Kit costs $6.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Train Kit holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Train Kit has 816 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Wee Trains's written reviews are positive against 66% of Train Kit's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Wee Trains ships an update every 3 weeks, Train Kit every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
