# NGO vs Itron Field Tools

The clearest difference is rating: NGO at 2.5 against Itron Field Tools's 2.0. NGO also leads on iOS requirement (12.2 vs 16.0). Itron Field Tools's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 36 months). On price, review sentiment, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NGO sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Itron Field Tools asks for nothing beyond the download.

NGO holds the better App Store score, 2.5 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Itron Field Tools has 49 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 14% of NGO's written reviews are positive against 17% of Itron Field Tools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NGO ships an update every 36 months, Itron Field Tools every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 21, 2026.
