# Map Tracks vs Location Tracker

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Location Tracker at none against Map Tracks's 1. Location Tracker also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 months). On price, review sentiment, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Map Tracks sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Location Tracker asks for nothing beyond the download.

Map Tracks ships an update every 10 months, Location Tracker every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
