# Caption Expert vs Captions Now

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Captions Now at 100% against Caption Expert's 36%. Captions Now also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and rating (4.9 vs 4.6). Caption Expert's advantage is ratings volume (2.4K vs 31) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Caption Expert sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Captions Now asks for nothing beyond the download.

Captions Now holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Caption Expert has 2.4K ratings behind it against 31, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 36% of Caption Expert's written reviews are positive against 100% of Captions Now's.
