# Probe Setup vs Patmark Apps

The clearest difference is rating: Patmark Apps at 2.8 against Probe Setup's 2.2. Patmark Apps also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 5 months) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 13.0). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Patmark Apps holds the better App Store score, 2.8 against 2.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 6 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of Probe Setup's written reviews are positive against 20% of Patmark Apps's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Probe Setup ships an update every 5 months, Patmark Apps monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 4, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
