# Mailo vs Xgen Email

The clearest difference is rating: Mailo at 3.7 against Xgen Email's 3.0. Mailo also leads on iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.6). Xgen Email's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 9 days vs every 7 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Mailo holds the better App Store score, 3.7 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 3 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 29% of Mailo's written reviews are positive against 33% of Xgen Email's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mailo ships an update every 7 months, Xgen Email every 9 days. Both last shipped on November 2, 2026.
