# One Workbook vs Simple Spreadsheet

The clearest difference is rating: Simple Spreadsheet at 4.6 against One Workbook's 1.6. Simple Spreadsheet also leads on review sentiment (44% vs 13%) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 12 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. One Workbook sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Simple Spreadsheet sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Simple Spreadsheet holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simple Spreadsheet has 6.9K ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 13% of One Workbook's written reviews are positive against 44% of Simple Spreadsheet's.

One Workbook ships an update every 12 months, Simple Spreadsheet every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
