# WordCrex vs Word Master

The clearest difference is rating: Word Master at 4.9 against WordCrex's 4.2. Word Master also leads on ratings volume (21K vs 25) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WordCrex sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per year and Word Master sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Master holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Master has 21K ratings behind it against 25, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of WordCrex's written reviews are positive against 64% of Word Master's.

WordCrex ships an update every 2 weeks, Word Master weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
