# Poparide vs HOVR

The clearest difference is rating: Poparide at 4.9 against HOVR's 2.6. Poparide also leads on ratings volume (760 vs 14). HOVR's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and update cadence (every 8 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Poparide holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Poparide has 760 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 38% of Poparide's written reviews are positive against 45% of HOVR's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Poparide ships an update every 3 weeks, HOVR every 8 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
