# Steps, The Pedometer App vs StepsToday

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Steps, The Pedometer App at 100% against StepsToday's 63%. Steps, The Pedometer App also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). StepsToday's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Steps, The Pedometer App sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and StepsToday sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StepsToday holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: StepsToday has 131 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Steps, The Pedometer App's written reviews are positive against 63% of StepsToday's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Steps, The Pedometer App ships an update every 3 months, StepsToday fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
