# Philips Sonicare vs Colgate Magik

The clearest difference is monetization model: Colgate Magik at free against Philips Sonicare's free with in-app purchases. Colgate Magik also leads on review sentiment (44% vs 32%) and device support (3 vs 1). Philips Sonicare's advantage is ratings volume (58K vs 1.6K) and rating (4.8 vs 4.5). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Philips Sonicare holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Philips Sonicare has 58K ratings behind it against 1.6K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Philips Sonicare's written reviews are positive against 44% of Colgate Magik's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
