# Empik vs MrReceipt

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Empik at none against MrReceipt's 7. Empik also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.6) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 67). MrReceipt's advantage is review sentiment (74% vs 56%). On price, update cadence, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MrReceipt sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Empik asks for nothing beyond the download.

Empik holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Empik has 1.1K ratings behind it against 67, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 56% of Empik's written reviews are positive against 74% of MrReceipt's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Empik ships an update fortnightly, MrReceipt every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
